What a Year’s Worth of Progress Looks Like
“The photo on the left (June 2020) is of a guy I barely recognize (to be fair, I was in an intense bout of acute pain around this time). I’ve stuck with the programming that Vinny (@painacademy) has given me, and I’ve become a student of his method, helping teach others from what I have been honored to learn. Yes I’m still on the path. Yes I still have days of discomfort, but they are further apart and less extreme. I’ve been riddled with back pain since I was a kid. My pain culminated in September 2017 when a full-blown rupture of my L4/L5 disc. Many doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and PTs attempted to help me along the way, but nobody truly has helped me as much as this simple and effective process.” – Kevin C.
338 days have passed between these two photos, and it’s been 228 since the photo on the right was taken. That’s 566 days in total that Kev has been working at a problem that has been in the making since he was a kid.
Even though he’s made incredible progress, he knows there is still much work to be done.
Restoring function, changing movement patterns, rewiring how you process pain and what it means to you, learning how to listen to your body, unlearning all the information people have told you before that never served you well, practicing how to show up daily for yourself, discovering how to show yourself compassion when you miss days…these are things that take time.
As I approach the 13th year since I broke my back, I’ve come to learn that you don’t solve movement problems, you dissolve them by sticking with a process.
If you want a process to stick to and a program to follow, I have one for you that’s worked really well for thousands of people.
